codes and conventions

 one code and convention that I have used on my half of the production video is the use of weapons which was used to crate a harmful scene within the actors. This footage can be shown at 1:35 of my half of the video where the sister finds out that her other sister killed her husband  so she's been stabbed with a knife and that is how Emily got her revenge for Katy killing her husband which is the main reason of the short film. As our genre is thriller it was popular for us to use violence and harm as it allowed to keep the audience awake ad on their toes in order to find out what happens next. This is done with a sort of tension between the death of Katy and how Emily kills here as it keeps the audience waiting on to see what will happen next. The main use of this was to allow the audience to keep them self to watch the whole short film to find out what is going on.

Another code and convention that has been used in my half of the production video is the use of suspense when Emily was calling her fake detective to question Katy into what she done and where she was during the killing. The creation of suspense can be strongly shown at 1:28 where Emily pulls the knife out from behind to kill Katy and she's trying to tell Emily that wasn't her who killed her husband but all truth was found and Katy was killed. this is used to create this suspenseful atmosphere among the audience allowing them to be left shocked and almost like a cliff hanger onto what happened next and how Emily was so quick to kill her sister without letting her give an explanation.

 

The third convention that is used on my half of the production video is threat as you can see at from the beginning of my half of the video Emily is on the phone to her fake detective telling her the type of things she has to do in order for Emily to get her revenge and towards the end around 1:30 you can see Emily threatening Katy to kill her with the knife if she keeps on trying to deny it as when she walked in Emily said "I know you killed  Jacob and you can't deny it" this shows the audience that Emily has found all the evidence needed that shows proof of Katy killing Jacob , so now its her turn to kill her. This leaves the audience wondering how she found out and what happens after she died allowing them to stay in their seats and continue watching.
